About

Faith without works is dead - James 2:20. Nothing can be genuinely believed without there being an accompanying and corresponding action. Our faith should be an active faith that requires the doing of deeds.

In the Fall of 2010, Christina and I had just dropped off a car load of items to the local GoodWill and afterwards we were discussing just how empty and unsatisfying it felt to drop garbage bags of clothes, boxes of toys, etc. but not having any sense or connection with those who will benefit from our blessing.

Nor did we have a sense of what people need and thus have the opportunity to match those needs with items or services we can provide and are more than willing to share.

And then it struck us - we need the Craigslist® equivalent for churches. We need to develop a web-based system by which a church community can easily connect those in need with those who are compelled to give. At that moment our mission became crystal clear - connecting those in need with God's blessings.

To better illustrate our point here is an inspiring statement from our pastor Jerry Shaffer.

For years the Church has sought to use technology to fulfill the work of ministry, usually this focuses on slick presentation, marketing and the like. But through list220.org we have the opportunity to affect the everyday lives of anyone with access to the Internet.

Scripture teaches, "Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little [still] had enough." List220.org allows those who have more than they need to give to others who need what they don't have, whether that is a good or service.
